Helping out at Crufts and the London Pet Show are definitely the highlights of the year for our doggy loving events staff. With a brief to provide lots of doggy treats and cuddles, along with helping sell and promote, our event staff loved every minute. It was an attitude that went down well with visiting dogs, owners and our client.
Crufts and the London Pet Show are familiar locations for Envisage staff. We can be found working with numerous clients throughout the exhibitions providing all types of staffing requirements including sales staff, sampling, events and promotions, demonstrators as well as meeting & greeting everyone who comes near the stand.
On this occasion, our client was seeking a lot of help across two retail stands. She needed high quality sales staff and promotional staff to engage with visitors (both doggy and human!), promote their dog food brand, keep the stand well stocked with products and help with sales. In addition, our staff were needed to set up the stand before the Crufts opened to the public, and then pack everything away at the end of the show.
It was very important to make sure that everything went well and that the right staff were chosen for the duration of the show. Quite apart from being able to complete all the required tasks, our client asked us to make sure that all the staff loved dogs and were non-smokers (dogs have very sensitive noses and can find the smell of smoke upsetting). A careful check of our database revealed several staff members who were perfect for the event. Living locally, they had no problems with access and they knew the venue well.
What did we do at Crufts for our client?
On one stand required three people to accept total responsibility throughout the event, running it on behalf of the client. Products had to be sold, and payments collected. Most importantly, they were responsible for presenting a positive brand image, making sure that customers left having had a very good experience of the brand – and providing lots of cuddles and treats for the doggies.
On the other stand we had two members of staff, Andrew and Andrea, who had to promote and sell products, keep the stand well stocked and ensure that all visiting dogs were happy and contented with their treats.
The Result
The client was overjoyed with the attitudes, standards and sheer professionalism of our staff. They met and exceeded every criteria she had given us. It was a total success for the brand, and within days our staff had been rebooked for the following year. Since then, we have provided our client with staff year on year at both Crufts and the London Pet Show.
